The LGPD, or Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (eng: General Data Protection Law), is a Brazilian data privacy law based on the EU’s GDPR.
The law defines what personal data is, when and how it can be collected and used, compliance requirements for businesses, and punitive measures for companies that break the law.
