Termly has made a name for itself as being a one-stop shop for all essential legal policies any ecommerce website or mobile app needs, from legal policies to shipping and return policies.

At the time of researching this article, Termly has several more policy generators available than Complianz. They also offer each policy in free template form.

Users can configure Termly’s CMP to meet the consent guidelines in over 70 regions, and their Privacy Policy Generator covers 30 privacy laws and counting.

Their legal team and product engineers update the generator regularly, adding more laws to its scope to help consumers keep up with the ever-changing data privacy legal landscape.

However, the Complianz website or its supporting material does not make any mention of other global privacy laws, such as those of Japan or South Korea.

Termly and Complianz both appear to be well-rated by customers, but Termly has nearly four times as many reviews as Complianz:

  • Complianz earned a 4.6 ‘excellent’ on Trustpilot based on 101 reviews.

Based on these reviews, Termly’s happy customers love their excellent, personalized customer support and appreciate how much time they’ve saved using their products, with some even saying it provides peace of mind.

Complianz’s users appear to appreciate the helpful, attentive customer support team, especially when it comes to clarifying set-up and other troubleshooting.

Additional Features

Both Complianz and Termly have additional features that set them apart for different kinds of businesses.

Which One Is Right for You?

Both Complianz and Termly offer helpful privacy solutions for businesses. They each have an in-house legal team, their tools were built by experts, and they help businesses align with privacy laws.

But Complianz’s products are only available for Shopify stores and WordPress sites.

In contrast, Termly offers consent solutions and policy generators that work for any business, whether your website or app is built on WordPress, another CMS, or is entirely self-managed.

Another key factor to consider is the number of jurisdictions each solution covers.

While Termly’s privacy solution helps businesses comply with over 30 privacy laws worldwide, Complianz focuses primarily on major regulations, such as those in the USA, UK, and EU. As a result, Termly may be a better fit for global businesses.
